PRAGUE BOATS is making the riverbanks greener

Our PRAGUE BOATS pontoons planted with trees improve the micro-climate in their vicinity.

Due to urban development and insufficient greenery in the streets, Prague’s city centre shows significantly higher temperatures than the city’s surrounding areas. Asphalt and concrete don’t have the ability to utilise the sun’s rays they collect and transform it into chemical or other types of energy like taller plants can. This is why PRAGUE BOATS plants mature woody plants on their new boarding piers—pontoons—which contribute to an improved micro-climate in the surrounding area through photosynthesis.

This year, we added this "green” pontoon on the Dvořák Embankment (pier no. 0), where our glassed-in boat, the Grand Bohemia docks and most frequently hosts the Lunch Cruises and Prague Grand Cruises, as well as, of course private events for our clients.

It has been our long-term effort to make sure that PRAGUE BOATS is an eco-friendly company; we invest in modernising our flotilla, replacing motors, and we eliminated single-use plastics on our cruises.
